The core competence studies in Computer applications cover a wide range of topics in programming. You will learn programming languages and techniques most commonly used today. Studies include also e.g. user interface design, operating systems, web development, databases, cloud operations, software robotics and business. After this, you will select studies according to your own interests and focus e.g. on augmented reality, artificial intelligence or big data. It will also be possible to select profiling studies from other degree programmes.

Studying is practical and related to the skills needed in modern working life. We apply skill-based assignments and projects in almost all of our classroom work. In some parts of the studies we will also learn by carrying out project assignments coming from companies and our research units.
Technology is highly involved in all of our studies. For a computer applications student having your own laptop is essential (BYOD) as contact lessons focus on practical work and guidance. Module assignments, materials and timetables are provided online. Many applications, programs and environments used in the studies are provided through virtual environments.
