To apply for studies, you can submit any of internationally recognized English language tests: TOEFL, TOEIC or IELTS or take Start Study developed English test.
In 2010./2011. we are changing test form to Oxford Online Placement Test. More information coming soon.
For VIA University College (VIA UC) applicants:
Students wishing to apply for studies at VIA University College need to take VIA UC English language test.
The test venue and time:
Both tests (Study Start and VIA UC) will be held in Riga, on 29.th of January. Specific place and time will be announced soon by sending e-mail. Details of the test process will be posted here.
Application:
Applying for the tests take place by sending an e-mail with your name, surname, e-mail and the city to the: info@studystart.lv. If there will be a lot of interest the test will take place in other Latvian cities as well.
About the test:
Test consists of two parts – written and oral.
Written part will be in the form of the essay, you will need to choose one of the 5 topics offered about currently important issues of political, economic and social actions in the world. The writing time for the essay is 90 minutes.
The oral part of the test will be an interview in English, which will happen immediately after the written part.
Price:
Participation in Study Start test is 15 LVL. VIA UC test is free of charge.
! Study Start exam is valid ONLY for entry in Study Start cooperation schools using Study Start mediation. Applying for studies without Study Start mediation the international English tests (TOEFL, TOEIC or IELTS) should be presented.
